Truly a wonderful little part. It has a lot to offer as far as soccer courts, tennis courts, they even have a stretch of green grass to play football. There are a lot of trees, there's a basketball court in a sweet little playground and splash pad. Well none of these reasons are why I go here, I go to get away and gain some peace under the shade of a giant tree. If you're in the Walnut hills area I highly recommend it.

This park needs some help. There's a large community of houses that surround it... It's sad the community cannot come together and bring the park some life. Otherwise, it's a great location and excellent views.

I love this park for the unique view of downtown Dayton, and the neighborhood association is working hard to keep it clean. My daughter loves the splash pad in the summer. But it needs some work for sure. I go frequently with my kid and always feel safe, but there is always trash and graffiti. The basketball court is popular and always in use. There are paved soccer courts that are also heavily used by the community and home to frequent tournaments. I have played tennis here, but again the courts are not well maintained. Overall, you probably only come here if you live in the neighborhood, but I think the view of downtown is a best kept secret that even many locals are unaware of. Makes for beautiful sunset watching.

The bones of her are gorgeous and I don't know of a better view of the Dayton skyline, however the park seems to constantly be vandalized. The binoculars have even been "removed" that were on the observation deck... Was a fantastic spot for the eclipse!

Update Spring 2026: work continues on the prairie and clearing invasives. If you are interested in helping and know native plants from weeds, please get in touch with me. Update Summer 2025: In collaboration with the City of Dayton, park goers will soon notice the bottom field slowly being transformed into a native Urban Prairie. It is going to be a project taking place over the next couple years starting this fall. There will eventually be trails cut through the prairie as well as a nice wide perimeter path. We plan to cover every hillside with native plants and shrubs. A lot of native trees are going to be planted. In the end the park is going to be a small arboretum with all the unique native greenery. I do still have plenty of native trees to plant at the park, unfortunately I had no luck with my Paw Paw seeds germinating and all five of my Persimmon did not make it. Update Spring 2025: almost all of the native plants survived. 2nd year is the creep year and 2026 the plants should be well established and really showing off. I have plenty of native trees to plant in the park this fall or next spring. Tulip Poplar, Black Gum, Sassafras, Persimmon, Witch Hazel, Downy Serviceber
